Dr. Brenda Pagan-Duran joined Westwood Ophthalmology Associates in 2007. A passionate clinician, she has extensive experience in including serving as the Chief of Ophthalmology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey. Dr. Pagan-Duran provides comprehensive eye care for the entire family. She lives in the Pascack Valley with her husband and three children and enjoys traveling in her spare time.

Her commitment to education is evident from her many roles in clinical education including Assistant Professor at UMDNJ and numerous leadership positions with the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmologists, including serving as the organization's president. On a national level with the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), she serves as a key member of the Patient Education Committee, helping to develop the crucial health resources that patients across the country rely on. In recognition of this extensive work, the AAO honored her with the prestigious 2020 Secretariat Award for her exceptional dedication to ophthalmic education. Her active involvement in the field's leading organizations, including the AAO and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), ensures she remains at the forefront of the latest surgical techniques and patient care standards, meaning she brings the most current and comprehensive approach to every patient at Westwood Ophthalmology.
